Weird Sherborn Adventure #1: The Dead Guy Project

This is a two-session commitment on successive DS early release Wednesdays.
​
While future Weird Sherborn programs will interact with history detectives of all ages, this first session is for middle school students, grades 6-8. Kids will have time to eat lunch prior to a prompt 1:30 launch. Registration for this cool free event is required, please see this link. Space is limited!

At the end of the sessions, participants will be awarded a certificate of research skill recognition.

Part 1: Pine Hill Cemetery Exploration: tour parts of our town’s 1850’s rural garden cemetery, hear a few stories, and choose & photograph graves for Part 2!

Date: Wednesday, October 18, 1:30-3:00 (dreary or nice, meet at Jamison Field playground lot). Camera or phone/camera required.
Part 2: Exhume a “Dead Guy’s” Story: With coaching in the Library’s work room, history detectives will learn how to use ancestry.com and other sources to recover a lost “story with evidence”!

Date: Wednesday, October 25, 1:30-3:00 (meet at the SPL). Laptop or tablet required, with a gmail account for evidence hoard.
